American Culinary Federation High Sierra Chefs Association chefs are going wild on Saturday, Nov. 3. The public is invited for a night of dishes crafted with exotic meats cooked by local chefs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center.
Chefs featured at the event will include Jay Rathmann with BJ’s Barbecue, Darrin McKillip of US Foods, Vic Vegas with 7 Sinful Subs and Nicholas and Company, and many more.
All proceeds from this event will help ACF HSCA provide scholarships to local student chefs. Some of these students also will cook at the event.
“We wanted to do something different,” said Jay Rathmann, president of ACF HSCA. “For this fundraiser we wanted to do something unique, something that hasn’t been seen in a few years.”
Featured at this event will be dishes that will include elk, boar, rattlesnake, and venison. Rathmann said he wanted to “stick to what people know” while still branching away from typical dishes. “We can only go so far on the wild side,” he explained.
Different stations will be set up throughout the event, so guests can enjoy a drink and mingle with other guests and chefs, all while trying as many exotic dishes as they desire.
“You come, you try it, and then you go to the next station,” Rathmann explained. “It’s going to be very interactive and very fun.”
Tickets are $95 each and include two drink tickets. Get yours today at Eventbrite.com.
