Helping the Chefs of Tomorrow

This year the American Culinary Federation High Sierra Chefs Association awarded scholarships to eight Truckee Meadows Community College culinary arts program students. These students were finalists selected from all original applicants. Each student was awarded  $500, to be split evenly across both semesters for the 2018-2019 school year. 


To be selected for this scholarship, applicants must have been enrolled in at least six credits and have a GPA of 2.75 or higher. 


“We’re happy to be able to support young chefs,” ACF HSCA President Jay Rathmann said. 


These students were also awarded a year long membership at ACF HSCA. 


ACF HSCA board members are always looking for ways to support and reward local students who are working towards becoming a part of the culinary industry, Rathmann said.
