The ACF High Sierra Chef’s Association’s Chef of the Year Awards has been given!
Four categories that were offered this year: Chef of the Year, Pastry Chef of the Year, Junior Chef of the Year, and Associate of the Year.
“If you know a chef that stands out in the community that’s the chef we’re looking for,” said Jay Rathmann, ACF HSCA President. “These awards are for the people who go above and beyond their normal workload.”
Nominations also are being accepted for 2019 Officers and Board Members.
In order to be nominated, a chef must be a member of ACF HSCA and be nominated by other members. ACF HSCA members then choose winners from that pool.
“We nominate the people who go above and beyond in our community,” said Fred Wright, ACF HSCA Treasurera. “We’re all busy and we all do a lot. Sometimes a little recognition is important.”
The winners of this year's awards were Michelle Palmer for Best Pastry Chef, Destiny Maynes for Junior Chef of the Year, and Ron Eber for Chef of the Year.
